The Sona Group is a premier business group in India, the origins of which trace back to India’s pre-independence era. Our beloved leader Kalaithanthai Karumuttu Thiagaraja Chettiar is the founder of The Sona Group.
During his study on the life and works of the tea plantation workers, he was moved by their bitter plight and was determined to improve their conditions. He figured out that the best way to achieve this was to educate people, set up an industry and employ the Indians.
Since the 1920’s, the group has hugely contributed to India’s growth in agriculture, textiles, IT, construction and education among other sectors.
